Position Summary

The Underwriting Service Representative is responsible for processing Lincq (proprietary underwriting system) transactions for our Mid-Market business. The incumbent will also direct any incoming service requests to the appropriate business sector in a timely manner and in accordance with business guidelines and policies.

What you will be doing:

Perform data entry, data calculations/computations, and generate reports using business systems.

Enter any policy adjustments into the underwriting system ensuring accuracy and completeness of information, on a timely basis, and with close attention to details

Upload new business, endorsement and renewals ensuring completeness and accuracy

Edit, verify, and identify policy errors and notify the appropriate parties

Perform necessary calculations and update accounting records

Process all cancellations and policy reinstatements accurately and timely in accordance with established guidelines

Triage incoming service requests to the appropriate business sector

Communicate successfully with underwriters and brokers for verification and qualification of information and to request information required to be part of the underwriting file

Familiarize and apply best business practices towards national service and quality standards and policies

Maintain regular communication with the business to promote an open flow of information regarding our various customers and their needs

Other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:

Post-secondary school education and/or equivalent on the job experience

Previous office administration experience

Excellent keyboarding and data entry skills

Ability to produce accurate, error free work

Ability to work within a PC oriented environment, including familiarity with e-mail and Internet skills

Competence with Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products

Previous insurance administration experience is an asset

General insurance/business knowledge and or experience is a strong asset

Fluently bilingual (English / French) is an asset
