This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on canada-talents.ca, and how to control them. It sits alongside our privacy policy, which covers personal information more broadly.
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work at all. Others measure how the site is used, or record that you arrived from a partner website. Similar technologies (pixels, local storage, software development kits) do comparable things, and we mean all of them when we say “cookies” here.
Strictly necessary cookies load automatically, because the site cannot function without them. Everything else loads only if you allow it. When you first visit, a consent banner asks what you agree to. You can reopen that banner and change your answer at any time, and your choice is remembered.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the site.
These keep the site working and remember your privacy choices. They cannot be switched off.
truendo_cmp: set by Truendo, our consent management platform. Records which categories of cookies you agreed to, so you are not asked again on every page.
Webflow session cookies: set by our website host to serve pages correctly and to keep you signed in if you have a member account.
These tell us how the site is used, in aggregate: which pages people read, which guides get finished, where visitors arrive from. They do not tell us who you are. They load only with your consent.
_ga: set by Google Analytics to distinguish one visitor from another. Typically expires after two years.
_ga_1NL6CY5PKK and _ga_2XM6MMCJJ7: set by Google Analytics 4 to maintain session state for our specific properties. Typically expire after two years.
These measure whether our advertising and our partner referrals actually reach people. They load only with your consent.
_gcl_au: set by Google to record which ad brought a visitor to the site, so we can tell whether advertising works. Typically expires after 90 days.
Fintel Connect: attributes visits that arrive from partner websites, so referral partners can be credited correctly.
These add features to the site. Each is run by a separate company under its own privacy policy, and each may set its own cookies when it loads.
Tidio: the chat widget. If you start a conversation, Tidio processes the messages you send and remembers the conversation so it is still there if you return.
Flodesk: sends some of our email campaigns and measures whether they were opened.
Stripe: processes payments for our services and donations, and sets cookies to detect fraud during checkout.
Google Fonts: serves the typefaces used across the site. Loading them sends your IP address to Google.
We do not sell your data, and we do not allow third parties to use cookies on our site to build advertising profiles of you for their own purposes.
Reopen the consent banner and change your selection, or clear cookies in your browser. Withdrawing consent stops future collection; it does not undo what was collected while consent was in place. To ask about information already held about you, write to welcome@canada-talents.ca: your rights are set out in our privacy policy.
We update this page when the tools on our site change. The date below shows when it was last reviewed.
