Our promise

Our presentations will provide useful tips on job search, work-related issues, and Canadian culture. A specialist keynote speaker will give a presentation and facilitates a discussion with the audience.

It is also a time to brainstorm ideas, share experiences, and learn from each other. At the end of the event, people are encouraged to nurture their network in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Volunteers will be present at each event to answer your questions.

Keynote: Alden E. Habacon

For over a decade, Alden has been helping organizations increase diversity and achieve real culture change towards inclusion excellence. He helps professionals, educators and organizations meet the intercultural demands of a rapidly diversifying workplace, community or classroom.

Other presenters:

Constance Lynn Hummel is a Values-Based Leadership Coach and Psychotherapist who helps existing and emerging leaders become the empathetic and influential leaders that people want to work with and for.

Armed with former professional experience in human resources and marketing from multiple industries, Iris Cai is currently the Career Coach of University of British Columbia's MBA program. Her exposure and interaction with people with a wide range of backgrounds have allowed her to build strong connections with clients and relate to what they are going through.

Kimberley Rawes is a Career Educator at the University of British Columbia with over ten years of experience in career development. She takes a strengths-based approach to staying curious about the world of work, and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Pedagogy at UBC. In her free time, she likes to run on the trails in Pacific Spirit park and laugh with stand-up comedians.
